Susan K. Goodman
With over 15 years experience and a Certified Records Manager since 1991, Susan Goodman is a Senior Consultant with IMA. In she has extensive records-management experience with large financial institutions, multinational manufacturers, law firms, public utilities. Some of her specialties include records retention schedules research and development, strategic solutions on records issues—including electronic records—orientation and training at all levels.
Goodman has considerable experience as a manager of outsourced records services accounts with two management services firms. She is knowledgeable in areas such as vital and archival records management and business resumption programs. Goodman has advised organizations on their use of micrographics, inactive records storage, files management, and information access and security issues. She is experienced in marketing, creating procedures, training, staff supervision, project management, team development, budget development, and compliance auditing.
Goodman received the accredited Master of Library Science (1984) from the State University of New York, Albany , where her studies focused on information technology, systems analysis as well as records and information management. She has authored several publications, including articles for the Information Management Journal of ARMA International. She is an internationally known speaker in areas such as records retention and disposition policies and practices, business politics, attorney-records manager relations, and electronic records management. Goodman has served as member and chair of numerous professional committees at the local and international levels and was founding president of the Albany , New York chapter of ARMA International. She has taught records management courses in the College of Business and the School of Library and Information Science at Wayne State University ( Detroit ). She established her own consultancy, Infoflo Consulting, in 1992.
